I was there this "spring". It was good. New applications will be accepted soon. It is quite a lot of work, but definitely worth it.

KONE FOUNDATION GRANTS FOR ART AND CULTURE

Application period for the Kone Foundation grants will start in August and ends on 30 September. The foundation awards grants, e.g., for art and culture projects.

The emphasis is on new and marginal forms of arts and culture as well as projects that renew or create new forms of arts and culture or contain new perspectives. Grants are also awarded to projects that combine the perspectives of art and science.

Grants are not awarded for artistic work in general, but for a specific project with a work plan.

The Kone Foundation Language Programme is taken into account in funding decisions during the period 2012–2016. The main objective of the Language Programme is to advance the documentation, analysis and support of small Finno-Ugric languages, the Finnish language and minority languages in Finland.

APPLICATION FOR SAARI RESIDENCE

The Saari Residence is a tranquil facility and a fruitful meeting point for artists and researchers. The Residence offers Finnish and non-Finnish artists, critics and translators the chance to work intensively for a period of two months in a relaxed countryside setting from September to April. Artistic groups may also apply for use of the Residence's facilities for limited periods of time from May to August.

Each resident is provided with an apartment and workroom. The Kone Foundation provides monthly grants (2,300 or 2,600 euros/month) for the duration of the residency period. Groups can apply for grants to compensate for expenses.

Application period for residencies in 2013 is from August 1 to August 31.

Weiterlesen...Margaret Dragu, Canadian performance artist extraordinaire, and very nice person, will be Performer Stammtisch's main guest for Month of Performance Art in May 2013. We need a very cheap or free place (or places) for her to stay. Who can help? May 5th to 30th would be perfect, but shorter times within that time frame are also greatly appreciated.

You can find a little more info and a lot of her video work on vimeo.

In her own words:
Margaret Dragu seeks Berlin Accommodation May 5 - 30, 2013
Modestly priced $$$$ -- or free in exchange for house-sitting. I am an internationally famous cleaning lady and terrific tenant. Room with kitchen OK but apartment or studio preferred. I am a non-smoker but realize European proclivity to smoke... I shall be in Berlin with Performer Stammtisch and Month of Performance Art to create VERB WOMAN TV.

Month of Performance Art MPA-B needs help with Press/PR PDF Drucken E-Mail
Geschrieben von: Jörn Burmester

The Month of Performance Art-Berlin is looking for a bilingual (German/English) Press and PR person to help with the promotion of this unique, month-long project, now in its third edition.

Unfortunately as a non-funded and artist-led initiative, we are currently unable to offer any payment. Hence we arelooking for someone who is interested in performance art, and would like to support our project.

We already have some press contacts and last year we were featured on various media outlets including Tagespiegel, RBB and Flux FM. Ideally the person helping us would have his/her own additional contacts and time to develop a good press campaign ahead and during MPA-B in May 2013.

Get in touch if you can help: Diese E-Mail-Adresse ist gegen Spambots geschützt! Sie müssen JavaScript aktivieren, damit Sie sie sehen können.

VIVA! Art Action: Call for Submissions PDF Drucken E-Mail
Geschrieben von: Jörn Burmester
Sontag, 07. Oktober 2012 20:36

VIVA! Art Action – 4th edition, October 2013 in Montreal, Canada

DEADLINE: November 15, 2012

Founded by six Montreal-based artist run centres in 2006, VIVA! Art action is a biennial festival dedicated to the support and dissemination of action art, including- but not limited to- performances, happenings, public interventions, body art and furtive actions. Concentrated in and around the Bain St-Michel, an old public pool located in Montreal’s lively Mile-End neighbourhood, VIVA!’s fourth edition will offer artists a vibrant context for the dissemination of emerging, ephemeral, unpredictable and constantly shifting action art practices.

Beginning with a two-day period dedicated exclusively to festival participants, VIVA! 2013 will focus on creating an open and convivial setting in which to meet, create and exchange. The artistic programming will provide both structured and spontaneous occasions for participating artists to present work and, as a result, each artist will have the possibility to intervene several times during the course of the weeklong event.

VIVA! invites local, national, and international artists and collectives to describe their practices and intentions to us. All forms of action art will be considered, whether that work is to be presented in VIVA! locations (Bain St-Michel or partnering gallery spaces), public space, the private sphere, or non-sites.

VIVA! respects the artist fee rates established by RAAV/CARFAC 2012, offers free daily communal meals, and contributes towards travel and accommodation expenses.

Weiterlesen...Für die Installation / Performance "Living Ornament- Version: Carpet" der Künsterin Nezaket Ekici, für eine Performance am 9. April 2012 in dem Möbelhaus: Moabiter Möbel, Turmstraße 25, 10559 Berlin am 9. Oktober 2012.

Through our partner Culture Factory Polymer, we will be able to provide free accommodation for the participating artists.

WHAT IS DIMANCHE ROUGE?

Since the start, in February 2011, Dimanche Rouge’s events have showcased the work of over 500 artists from 52 countries.

Dimanche Rouge’s mission is to promote contemporary art performances reaching a large and diverse public, providing a permanent platform for experimental art, and fostering international exchanges. Dimanche Rouge’s core development is a monthly and free experimental performance event based in Paris, France. This event was born out of a need for a permanent platform for experimental performances in Paris, and is now established at different venues for international artists to perform.  Dimanche Rouge is currently developing projects abroad intended to create sustainable cultural and artistic exchanges.

Open Call: Manchester 12 12 12 on Humanity PDF Drucken E-Mail
Geschrieben von: Jörn Burmester
Mittwoch, 11. Juli 2012 22:48

An invitation to enter a discourse on Humanity.

Following on from last years successful 11 hours of Performance

11 11 11 ~ in remembrance - Manchester

11 11 11 brought 11 of the UK’s most questioning, curious and audacious artists into one location to perform

11 new performances that ‘attempt to re-acknowledge, re-address, re-surface, re-action, re-speak the remembrance’

of past events and past lives on this day of ‘remembrance’.

Made in art are now proposing a new one day event for the 12th 12th 12th that will last for 12 hours and will                                        focus on humanity as its driving focus.

Made in art wish to experience art that asks us to question, reflect, engage, expose and gain some insight into                                     humanity and so a species.

12 12 12 asks artists from any discipline to consider the humanity of a species in all its attributes.
